Malay seafarers in Liverpool and Associate Professor Tim Bunnell

It was interesting to meet up with Associate Professor Tim Bunnell on the Malay seafarers in Liverpool.

It is amazing how Associate Professor Tim Bunnell conducted an interesting research on the Malay seafarers who decided to settle down in Liverpool.

I remembered having Malay food at the Malay Sailors’ Club House at Toxteth during my university days. As the President of the Malaysian Students Society then, I even organized the annual dinner and dance with the ayam kurma dish that turned out to be a little messy for the VIP’s. Those were the days, and apparently the club house is still there.

Anyone with the pictures taken in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s with these Malay seafarers and their families, please share with the alumni.

Some of the alumni were even staying with these former seafarers while study at the University of Liverpool.
